Backpacking Made Easy ? Experiencing the World, One City at a Time

Travelers around the world enjoy seeing the sights and wonders of different places with only a backpack for all the things they need. Compared to other forms of travel, backpacking is rewarding as previously mentioned, largely because of the potential for adventure and excitement all in one trip.

Naturally, every backpacker needs to have a checklist of sorts, a list of items that have to be present inside the backpack before heading out on the long-awaited adventure. This checklist should be of help to any backpacker, regardless of experience, as it can sometimes be easy to forget even the simplest things.

Backpack
This is the no-brainer of all no-brainers ? no traveler in his or her right mind would head on a backpacking trip with no backpack at all! Pick one that is comfortable and fits well on you.

Quick Drying Towel
?but a quick drying towel. Come on, do you really think you can survive with a heavy and damp towel making your backpack even heavier?and smellier?

Walking Shoes
Walking is a huge part of any backpacking trip, so your shoes have to be comfortable enough for walking.

Underwear and socks
These go without saying.

Long Underwear
Don?t worry ? this only applies for specific seasons. Long underwear also comes in handy as a lot of hotels and motels don?t even have decent heating.

Just In Case?A Pillow Case
Pillow case is an essential thing to keep when you stay in backpacker hotels.

The Sleeping Bag
See above comments.

Passport
Don?t even think of leaving the country without it.

The Spy Wallet
If there are more than a few people on the trip, this could help you share the wealth.

Using A Day Pack
Most backpacks have a detachable daypack.

Camera
If you don?t mind carrying such a bulky load, go with a digicam.

Your Own Diary Or Journal
For anybody who loves to write about their adventures.

Bathroom Flip Flops
To be used, of course, when you are showering.

A Supply Of Traveler?s Checks
You can never be too sure with your money.

Wet Wipes For Any Occasion
Can?t go without them. Easy to carry too.

Laundry Detergent
It might prove handy.

Space Savers

Using A Rain Coat
Don?t forget to bring one should you be traveling to tropical countries where there is such a thing as a rainy season.

Lock
Keep your belongings safe at all times.

Some Band Aids
It?s better to be prepared than not at all.

Travel Guide
It will never fail you in case you run out of things to do.

And of course, your packing wouldn?t be complete without toothpaste, soap and all that other good stuff.

Packing Your Clothing
Before you leave for your trip, prepare all necessary clothes. But only bring half of them. Too much clothing will weigh down your backpack. Don?t bring too much and you?ll be fine.

Whether you plan an extended holiday or quick getaway, travel insurance should be the first thing on your to-do list. Good chartis travel insurance protects you whether you?ve lot your luggage or your trip is cancelled.
